Anne Dacier

Overview 

Anne Dacier born in Saumur, France in 1654. Anne was educated in the field of classical studies. She married a student of her fathers, André Dacier. She was a translator, and editor. Given her status and familiar circumstance however, she has been expected and conditioned to engage in more typical activities, such as sewing and knitting, however the clever Anne, had more ambitious intellectual pursuits in mind, and her natural brilliance allowed her to break past stereotypes.  
 
Many of her translation works and skills won her acclaim and popularity. Even the Queen of Sweden was a fan of her works.Â
