The Legion’s goodbye ceremony for the newly-married Lightning Lad and Saturn Girl was interupted by a teleporting Arma Getten, who grabbed R.J. Brande and encased Brande and himself within an unstable energy shield created by a force-binding weapon. He claimed that Brande’s company was responsible for his father’s bankruptcy and ransomed Brande’s life for three items that together, powered a world destroying machine, which the Legionnaires transmogrified into a star-creating machine for the Graxis. Arma Getten was killed when his weapon malfunctioned, atomizing him.
