Arthur Machen

Arthur Machen (1863-1947) was a Welsh author of fantastic and supernatural horror, including “The Great God Pan” and “The White People.” The death of his father and a chance meeting with occultist A.E. Waite were pivotal to Machen’s career as an author. He was also a scholar of Celtic Christianity and the Holy Grail mythos. H.P. Lovecraft was among his contemporaries.
