Ashlyn Beringer

Origin

Ashlyn was born April 16, 1998, in the State of Colorado, to a Mr. John Beringer (only child), and Ms. Kate Beringer (only child). Ashlyn was the child of a single father; her mother had died giving birth to her. Ashlyn’s father was enlisted in the United States Army, and had completed 2 tours in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom in which started March 20, 2003. As a child Ashlyn’s father used to teach her survival training, military tactics, and combat. Shortly after starting his second tour in early 2004, Ashlyn’s father and his unit were killed in action by an I.E.D. (Improvised Explosive Device). Ashlyn was now 6 years old. With Ashlyn’s father now dead, Ashlyn was placed into an orphanage. At the orphanage, Ashlyn, along with several other children were experimented on with Human performance enhancers (See “The Awakened” story-line for further). After the children were released, Ashlyn disappeared staying off the grid, alone, until she matured and became an Awakened at the age of 20. Ashlyn honed her new skills and used it to her advantage (steal, con, etc.) to survive in the city. When Teslacorp took over the old orphanage property (See Teslacorp. Story-line), their agents began tracking down the potential “Awakened”. Ashlyn was eventually captured and tortured. Ashlyn had escaped and was recaptured several times throughout the years. At the age of 21, Ashlyn escapes from Teslacorp. for a final time after hearing their plans to track down the remaining “Awakened” and harvest their power. After a year of searching Ashlyn now 22 years of age, tracks down the last remaining potential “Awakened” Corbin, and the story begins.

Creation

When creating Ashlyn, Creator Joshua Skidmore wanted a more plausible 21st century woman, one who could hold her own in a superhero world and not constantly scream for help like so many female love interests in the comic world. Ashlyn was created for that purpose, she is the love interest of the main character Corbin Reed, but also someone who doesn’t really need saving, she is seen as an equal when it comes to fighting. Ashlyn was also decided to have the “Awakened” ability of water, making her adaptive to situations as well as beautiful but deadly water like qualities. When co-creators Stacie Renee’ and Brett Keith went over the character, she was much further developed as far as personality and attitude. Model/Actress Deidre Rozay plays the role of Ashlyn perfectly

Personality

Ashlyn plays tough. She takes pride in what she does and has a sense of humor yet has no patients and expects things to be done in a fast manner. She has a soft side which she rarely shows but is easily seen by Corbin. Bottles everything inside and pretends everything is always okay. Ashlyn is constantly looking for an escape route and objects to use as weapons. Very military oriented. Thinks the world is out to get her. Ashlyn is a bit of a perfectionist and conspiracy theorist.

Powers and Abilities

Ashlyn didn’t have any special super human abilities, until she awakened and gained several powers from the “human Performance Enhancers” tested on him as a child.

Water Control

Upon awakening, Ashlyn now can generate water at will from her body, being able to generate water has its benefits, such as, Ashlyn is now immune to water effects such as drowning as well as water it’self. Ashlyn’s body absorbs it now. While concentrating Ashlyn’s clothes as well as anything she is in contact with can sustain the same water resistance and consistency as her body. People, Ashlyn comes into contact with may also share in her water generating ability if she so chooses to concentrate on that person. Ashlyn also has the ability to generate balls of water as well as water currents, creating water weapons she can throw and/or shoot.

Healing Factor

Ashlyn has a healing factor that has a mind of its own. Ashlyn’s body and mind can heal themselves without her being aware or conscious. Other awakened hybrids may hurt Ashlyn but the only way to truly kill an “Awakened” is by cutting off their head, due to fast regeneration.

Agility/Strength

Ashlyn’s agility is now off the chart, from running faster than a standard human to jumping higher, even Ashlyn’s strength and endurance is far superior to that of an average human. when it comes to lifting weight, Ashlyn can now lift approximately 730 kg (1609 lb), which is the equivalent to the average 21st century Smart Car.
