Origin
Working at the Atomic Institute, Barry Dale discovers that he has assimilated the power of the atom and possesses super strength, flight, super-speed, invulnerability, the ability to weld metal with his hands, and other abilities as a result of working on radium and uranium. Evidently his body can explode atoms which grants him “atomic strength.”
Creation
Atoman was created by Jerry Robinson, and made his first appearance in Atoman #1. In 1950, the comic was reprinted in New World Comics where Atoman was renamed to Atomaster, and the costume color changed from yellow/red to blue/red.
