    After Carrie’s sister’s disappearance she took over the guardianship of Rogue. Her grief over the loss of her sister made her overly severe in her care of her niece. She did this to keep Rogue from turning out like her mother. Rogue would eventually run away from her aunt and her father.
    Rogue eventually returned as an adult to her childhood home. There she used her powers on her aunt to find out what had happened to her mother. She learned that her mother had journeyed to the Far Banks, a dream realm. Rogue was able to free her mother’s trapped spirit and allow her to move on to the afterlife. She returned to her Aunt Carrie and apologized for her actions. Rogue has made it clear she considers Carrie her mother now.
