Awesome was a member of the famed superteam known as the AJF, whose enemies included Dead End. When Dead End killed one of the teamâs members, Black Snake, Awesome led the AJF on a mission to capture him. The heroes eventually located Dead End hiding out on a tropical island.
In the ensuing standoff, Awesome was killed when he attempted to unleash his laser vision on Dead End. The villainâs unnatural luck caused the superheroâs laser-beams to turn inwards, instantly destroying him and causing a vast explosion that wiped out the rest of the AJF.
