Azar

Azar was the name of three different women, all of whom served as the spiritual leader of the people of Azarath.  The first Azar convinced a group of humans to abandon the warlike ways of Earth and journey with her to Azarath to establish a society of peace and prosperity. Azar taught and guided them for more than two-hundred years.

When she died, her name, title, and position passed along to her daughter who led the people of Azarath for another three hundred years.

Her daughter, the third woman to share the name Azar took up the responsibilities of her mother and grandmother and led Azarath into the modern era.  Described as a veritable goddess, she oversaw the education and training of the young half-demon Raven.  Azar later died, but her spirit lived on inside of Raven’s mother, Arella.  It laid dormant within her for years and finally manifested on the day when the Titans had to battle with the tainted souls of all of Azarath.  Azar provided Arella with the strength to help turn back the malevolent Souls of Azarath, but sacrificed herself in the process.  When the evil of Trigon had been expunged, Azar’s spirit joined with those of the other cleansed souls and journeyed into the light.

Power, Skills, and Paraphernalia

Azar has been likened to a goddess, and may even have possessed powers of a god-like nature, but these abilities, if they exist, have never been demonstrated.

Although not immortal, Azar has lived for many centuries giving her great longevity.
