Barney Blaine used to be a son of Vulcan to the predesesor of Erich Thonius. He never revealed why he chose tl left behind his identity of Son of Vulcan but he helped the last of the line, Miguel Devante, when he faced the enemies of Vulcan. Barney tried to help Miguel by givng him the necessary information about the Vulcan legacy, but he was intercepted in his effort by the martian A’mmon A’mokk. Ammon caused him a heart attack and Barney was left in a coma in a hospital.
