Not much is known about the alchemist Basque Gran. He specialized at transmuting the iron in his blood into weaponry. In a flashback, he was revealed to have been stationed in Ishbal during the civil war, as a Brigadier General. He had a chat with his commander, who was stupidly throwing his men into to battle because of honor instead of for strategy. During that chat he said “Commodore, did you know that half the commanders on a battlefield are killed by their subordinates?” At the same time he shot the commodore with a gun he was holding. After the war, he was promoted to Commodore himself, but a few years later he was killed by Scar.
