Becky Randall is based on the literary character Rebecca Rowena Randall made famous by the book Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm by Kate Douglas Wiggin.

In the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen Becky is a teenage girl who is impregnated by Hawley Griffin who is the newest Invisible man. Although she was historical just after and at the time of her rape, she ended up feeling happy and proud of her insemination believing her pregnancy was the result of an immaculate conception by the Holy Spirit.
