Origin
Ben is a bee from the Westland, a part in the west of the Netherlands, where there’s many greenhouses. He has adapted himself to life amongst the greenhouses and its many inhabitants. He has painted himself green and white, the colors of the Westland. Except on Christmas, then he paints himself red and white.
Creation
Ben was created by independent creator Richard de Rijke. In 2015, when he was asked what he missed in the local newspaper “Groot Westland” (Great Westland), he responded that he missed a comic strip. The people around him thought it was a great idea and said he should do it. Though that wasn’t his initial goal, he thought about what would make a great comic strip. He decided on a bee, which is very common in the greenhouses of the Westland.

Powers & Abilities
Like every bee, Ben can fly. When he flies among the greenhouses, he adjusts his flight pattern. He also likes to ride a bike on top of the greenhouses.
