Major Story Arcs
Betty is heartbroken when she hears that the love of her life, Jerry Norwood, is going to marry Drusilla Parrish. Despite her bitterness, Betty throws Drusilla a linens party for the wedding. Before the party Betty meets with Jerry and he explains that the only reason he is marrying Drusilla is to get a good job with her wealthy father. The two make out while, unbeknownst to them, Drusilla watches.
Betty is further heartbroken when Drusilla cancels the wedding and Jerry skips town without her. Despite writing a passionate letter to Jerry he drinks himself to death.
