Big Jim

Big Jim is a line of Mattel action figures released between 1971 and 1986, like G. I. Joe by Hasbro, Jim appeared in advertisements published in comic books, in 1975, Jim becomes part of the P.A.C.K. (Professional Agents – Crime Killers) which also had as members Dr. Steel, The Whip, Torpedo Fist and Warpath the team fought against the villain Zorak, the boxes featuring art by Jack Kirby, the following year, a comic book tie-in published by Marvel, Big Jim’s P.A.C.K., which had art by John Buscema and inks by Joe Sinnott. In Europe it was released as Mark Strong, The MAN From MATTEL, this spy version had comics in the British magazine Look-In and its own magazine, Mark Strong – Der Mann von M.A.T.T. In Mexico, Big Jim was released by CIPSA as Kid Acero (Kid Steel), in this version, Big Jim is a member of LOBO Squadron, which also has as members Invisible Man and Bionic Man (a response to the Six Million Dollar Man) , they fight COBRA, led by Doctor Drago (who was actually Dr. Steel from the American collection), Kid Acero had comics by Editorial Novaro.

Currently, Big Jim is still remembered by Mattel, he is the father of Max Steel, released in 1999, in the Max Steel franchise, his full name is Jim McGrath.
