Billy the Bug

Billy grew up with a loving family but that was cut short when his father was taken from him by Justin Faraday’s (The Comic Bug) parents who at the time were both police officers. After the death of his father, Billy was tormented by his widowed mother and abused. Love replaced by anger and hate, Billy yearned for vengeance. And was granted it when he was a teen by a mysterious benefactor and mentor as both Justin’s parents were assassinated in the line of duty. But Billy wanted more by learning of Justin who also was just a year younger than him. He followed Justin who grew older but never quite hit his mark. That was until Justin became the Comic Bug. Thinking that this should have been his outcome instead, Billy continued pursuing through his mentor to get close to Justin and his new employer Joe Silverman. Following The Comic Bug’s debut and first true mission to help find Hotdog Man’s missing son, Joe Silverman handed Billy who was a janitor at Danny’s Exterminators a chance to be the replacmeent hero for the Comic Bug. Billy had finally become who and what he always wanted, to be a hero. But with his anger and fury he began to inflict a more darker version of violence. After gaining the attention of the emerging Insect Society, Billy began a reign of terror. That’s until Justin returned to be the Comic Bug. Knowing his dream would be stolen, Billy orchestrated an attack on Joe Silverman and went head-to-head with the Comic Bug. Winner taking all as the Comic Bug and Billy as an armored villain called the Stinger fought. But a malfunctioning circuit in the Stinger Armor caused an explosion, Billy was thought dead. But that wasn’t the end, Billy with his mentor in the dark background made a deal with the Insect Society and he became a zealot in their religion. Now head of the Insect Society and taking the mantle of the Termite, Billy returned and had his minions unleash hell on the Comic Bug and his partner, Amy Mercury. After Mercury has been rescued from captivity by the Comic Bug, Billy turned the tables by trying to sacrifice Justin for a dark ritual for the Insect Society. That’s until Amy donned her new role as the Black Bug and returned to save the Comic Bug from both the Termite and the Society. In the melee, Billy as the Termite managed to flee and hasn’t been seen in the city since.
