Created and written by Gerry Finley-Day and illustrated by Azpiri – Black Hawk first appeared in Tornado issue four, his adventures lasted until the final issue (#22) as he rose from slave to roman gladiator.
When Tornado merged with 2000AD, Black Hawk moved to the new title, with a new direction (and new writer, Alan Grant and artist Massimo Belardinelli), captured by aliens and made to fight in an alien arena.
