Black Samson

Creation

Samson was created by Robert Kirkman, his first appearance was in Invincible #6.

Origin

Black Samson has been a long time member of the Guardians of the Globe, the origins of his powers and how he entered the Guardians is still unknown. The only reason that Black Samson wasn’t killed along with the rest of the Guardians of the Globe was because his powers stopped working before Omni-Man turned on the team, so he wasn’t there when it happened. He was busy trying to get a suit made to duplicate his powers so he didn’t even know they were all dead. He got a suit and became a member of the new team but got into a fight and got put into a coma. When he came out of it, his powers had returned even stronger and he didn’t need the suit.

Death

During Robot‘s initial attempt to take over the Earth, he sent one of his new model drones to Black Samson’s barber shop. Black Samson warmly greets Robot into his barber shop while stating that he liked Robot’s new appearance before Robot blasts Black Samson’s lower body apart, killing him.

Powers and Abilities

Black Samson had a power suit that granted him super-strength, invulnerability, and enhanced stamina/speed/reflexes.

After Samson’s battle with Battle Beast (alongside the Guardians of the Globe), Samson fell into a coma but his body stored its energy and healed itself as well as rejuvenating his powers, it gave him a temporary boost of energy which he used to defeat Omnipotus.

However, after the battle he does return to what he calls ‘normal power levels’.

He was killed by Robot during the coup to take control over the planet so while Samson has super endurance, he is not strictly invulnerable to all attacks.
