Blackadder was originally created for television by Richard Curtis and comedian and actor Rowan Atkinson, the latter of whom also went on to portray the character in several incarnations. Comedian Ben Elton became co-writer of the show from the second series on, and, with all three men involved in the fundraising of Britain’s Red Nose Day, it was perhaps inevitable that Blackadder turned up in a new incarnation in the Comic Relief Comic.
