History
B. N. Winslow was the principal of Reginald Vel Johnson High School when student Mark Grayson gained his super powers and became the hero Invincible. In fact, Winslow himself unknowingly named Mark’s alter-ego when he called the young man into his office after an altercation with a school bully. During their conversation, Winslow told Mark, “You’re not invincible, you know” and a legend was born. Winslow has devoted his life to public education, first as an English teacher and then as a principal. The students of RVJ High generally regard Winslow as a fair and compassionate principal.
During his tenure as principal at RVJ, the school’s deranged physics teacher David Hines was kidnapping popular students and turning them into living bombs. Winslow’s steady leadership and open communication style helped the students and families of the school cope with the fear and uncertainty caused by the kidnappings and murders.
Winslow announced that he was stepping down as school principal at Mark Grayson’s graduation. The next school year Winslow took a job as Dean of Upstate University, where Mark and William currently attend college.
