Bomba the Jungle Boy was the first of the Tarzan imitations appearing in 20 novels starting in 1926 that told the tale of a white boy raise in the rainforests of South America in the first 10 and shifting to Africa for the last 10.

In the 40s there was a series of films based on the character starring Johnny Sheffield who played Boy in the Tarzan films.

In the 60s DC comic had a short comic book series based on his exploits.

The DC series returned him to South America.

In Tarzan #230, Bomb was renamed Simba.
