Personality

Brawl is incredibly loud and aggressive. While his rage alone is one of his greatest weapons in battle, it makes him unpleasant to be around with. He has even been treated by five therapists, and only one of them is still alive. It is even said that when the Combaticons combine to form Bruticus, Brawl’s rage is what fuels Bruticus the most.

Brawl is also very belligerent and loves a good fight, and while he is aggressive and full of rage, he is still loyal to Megatron and the Decepticon cause.

Powers and Abilities

Brawl is enormously strong, and the most physically powerful member of the Combaticons, being able to lift far more than 100 tons and even punched Optimus Prime to submission once (though not completely by himself). In addition to his tremendous strength, he possesses incredible durability, resistant to most conventional artillery. In tank mode, he can reach speeds of 45 mph and has a range of 600 miles. His turret-mounted gun shoots a shell up to a distance of 3.5 miles with an explosive force of 200 lbs of TNT. His twin sonic cannon shoots powerful, ear-splitting bursts of concentrated sound energy of up to 300 decibels. He can manipulate this energy in stereo (a result of the cannons dual configuration) to shatter anything from a crystal wine glass to a cinder-block bunker. In robot made, he wields a 10-megawatt electron gun. He combines with his fellow Combaticons to form the giant robot, Bruticus.

Transformers (1984) – Brawl appears in the original series, voiced by Tony St. James. Starscream created Brawl and the other Combaticons after he had stolen five personality components of five renegade Decepticons from Cybertron, and put them in five military vehicles from the second world war on Earth. Brawl wanted to kill Starscream anyway, but Starscream was the only one who currently could give the Combaticons the energy to survive. The Combaticons obeyed Starscream, and Starscream tested their loyalty by ordering them to capture a few Transformers. Megatron and a few other Decepticons later attacked Starscream and the Combaticons, and the Constructiconss had combined into Devastator to defeat Starscream and the Combaticons, however the Combaticons combined into Bruticus and overpowered Devastator and Megatron. Fortunatly for Megatron, the Stunticons had arrived, and they combined into Menasor and defeated Bruticus with a surprise attack from behind. Megatron then banished Starscream and the Combaticons from Earth and put them on an asteroid in space. In the next episode, Brawl was annoyed by Starscream’s constant whining and blasted him, and then Starscream abandoned the Combaticons and flied away. Blast-Off pulled the asteroid to Cybertron in his vehicle mode however, and the Combaticons had arrived on Cybertron. Shockwave and his forces then surrounded Brawl and the other Combaticons, but they formed Bruticus and overpowered Shockwave’s forces. Onslaught then reprogrammed the space bridge on Cybertron to pull Earth towards the Sun, and destroy every Autobot, Decepticon and human on it and have their revenge. When the Autobots and Decepticons heard about this, they made an alliance and used a space bridge to teleport to Cybertron. Then Brawl and the other Combaticons combined into Bruticus and overpowered the Autobots and Decepticons, but Starscream told them that they could only defeat him by blasting three weak spots on his back. They did this, and stopped the space bridge from pulling Earth to the Sun, and Earth went back to where it was, and the mission was successful. Then Megatron made it seem like he destroyed Bruticus, and the Autobots went back to Earth, however Megatron merely faked Bruticus’ death, and reprogrammed him to be loyal only to Megatron, and Brawl and the Combaticons continued to serve Megatron in later episodes.

Transformers: War for Cybertron (2010) – Brawl appears as a playable character in the Transformers: War for Cybertron voiced by Nolan North. Brawl’s alternate form is a cybertronian tank. He makes an early appearance in the game while fighting alongside Megatron and Barricade to help Megatron take control of the Dark energon. He makes another appearance in the third chapter of the Decepticon campaign, where he helps Starscream take down the Autobots while Megatron, Soundwave and Breakdown reaches Zeta Prime‘s vaults. Brawl makes one final, short appearance in the ends of the Decepticon campaign, when Megatron corrupts the core of Cybertron with Dark energon. He is also a playable character in the Escalation mode, and one of the playable chassis’ for the Soldier class in the Multiplayer mode, with his chassis being called “Crusher”.

Transformers: Fall of Cybertron (2012) – Brawl appears in Fall of Cybertron, the sequel for War for Cybertron, aswell, and this time he fights alongside his Combaticon brothers. This time he makes his first appearance in the third chapter, where he helps Onslaught and Starscream capture Optimus Prime and bring him to Megatron. Unfortunatly for them, though, Metroplex arrived at the Decepticon base and rescued Optimus and killed Megatron, and Starscream took over as leader of the Decepticons. Then Brawl makes another appearance in the sixth chapter, where he helps his Combaticon partner Vortex with his mission on destroying an Autobot bridge by destroying the bridge’s supports. The bridge’s support was underestimated, however, so Brawl had to blow a hole in the bridge so Vortex could get inside an put a detpak inside the bridge and blow it up. Brawl appears again in the chapter “Combaticons Combine!” where he and the other Combaticons combine into Bruticus to stop the Autobot’s energon transport and reclaim their Energon. The mission was successful, however, the transport crashed and half of the Energon was destroyed. This angered Starscream, but Onslaught stated that if it wasn’t for him and the Combaticons the Autobots would’ve taken all of the energon and insults Starscream for his incompetence. Starscream then arrested the Combaticons. Brawl appears in the next chapter, where Megatron returns, defeats Starscream and reclaims his leadership of the Decepticons. Brawl is pleased that Megatron has returned. He makes a final appearance in the final chapter of the game, where he and the other Combaticons combine into Bruticus yet again to destroy the Ark main energon tank. It was successful, but Bruticus was then blasted out to space, and it is yet unknown where he arrived. He is also a playable character in the Escalation mode, and his body parts are also available for the Titan class in the Multiplayer mode, with his parts being called “Tanker” and his armor set has his normal name Brawl. He is still voiced by Nolan North.

Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark (2014) – Brawl makes a short appearance in Rise of the Dark Spark, where he and his fellow Combaticons combine to form Bruticus to defeat Autobot forces. Brawl is also a playable character in the Escalation mode. The Cybertron-part of the campaign takes place after War for Cybertron, but before Fall of Cybertron, while the Earth-part takes place in a different Universe (the movie Universe), and Brawl only appears in the Cybertron-part. He is also a playable character for the Escalation mode.
