Buck Jones

Buck Jones (December 12, 1891 – November 30, 1942) was an American motion picture star of the 1920s, 1930s, and 1940s, best known for his work starring in over 180 films, the vast majority of which were Westerns.

Like all the other B-Western stars of the 30’s and 40’s, and even their side kicks and some famous horses,  a version of Jones ended up in the comics, mostly ones published by Dell, with nothing to really set them apart from any of the other western stars making it into four color comics of that era.

However one thing of note is that for some reason Jones was picked as the semi-star of Great Britain’s first western themed comic The Cowboy Picture Library. So for that he stands out a bit from the all but interchangeable comic book cowboys of the Golden Age.
