Buck Richlen, Val Adair, and Adam Manna were S.H.E.I.L.D. agents who were assigned by Nick Fury to force Stark Industries to go back to making weapons. They decided to accomplish this more efficently it would be better to kill Tony Stark so they hired the Spymaster. After they were defeated by Iron Man, Nick Fury apologized about the “assignment ” and told Tony he never wanted them to kill him that wasn`t part of the job.
