Buluku

The progenitor of the African gods, he is known by several names: Nyame (by the Ashanti), Mukasa (to the Baganda), Mulungu, Alouroua (to the Baoulé), Olorun (by the Yoruban and practitioners of Santeria), Ndriananahary (by the Malagasy-speaking people of Madagascar), Olodumare (by practitioners of Cuban Santeria).

Creation

Buluku debuted in Thor #300 (October 1980), written by Mark Gruenwald and Ralph Macchio.

This is a misconception, there is no male deity called Buluku, Nana Buluku is the supreme goddess in the West African religions of the Fon people (Benin, Dahomey) and the Ewe people (Togo).

In Marvel Comics, the goddess Nana is actually a form of Gaea, the Earth goddess, Buluku and Nana (Gaea) are the parents of the orishas and Loa.
