Butch was the childhood friend of Mike Murdock (after Mike Murdock rewrote history so that he was a real person). He was the illegitimate son of Kingpin, who grew up as the next door neighbor of the Murdocks. He partnered with Mike on his early scams, but he eventually got a job as an enforcer for The Owl.
When the Owl tried to destroy Hell’s Kitchen, Butch bailed and was recruited by Izzy Libris. Secretly, Butch planned with Mike to slowly push her out and take over.
