Capitão Ninja

Creation

Capitão Ninja first appearance would be in a children comic book called “O Pequeno Ninja” (The Little Ninja) published by Editora Ninja, as an ally to Pequeno Ninja. After the comic book was canceled, Ninja started to appear as a satiric character in two video-game magazine: Gamers and ProGames published by Editora Escala. In the magazines he performed some appearances in comic strips, fighting against characters from Street Fighter (where shown as Chun-Li‘s boyfriend) and Mortal Kombat as well as other famous video-game characters. Then he gained some popularity among readers. After Cassaro moved to Editora Trama (of Ruy Pereira, partner-founder of Escala), he started appearing in a magazine called Dragão Brasil which was specialized in Role-playing games. At Dragão Brasil, Cassaro created a satirical RPG inspired by games, anime, manga and tokusatsus called Defensores de Tokyo (Defenders of Tokyo), Capitão Ninja’s girlfriend is called Lun-Chi. Cassaro realized the Ninja’s potential and decided explore it releasing the mini series U.F.O. Team. When he got the license to write the miniseries Street Fighter Zero 3, Cassaro used Capitão Ninja in extra stories, in which the character mentions that he was Chun-Li’s boyfriend.

In the graphic novel Project Ayla (2014) wrriten by Cassaro and illustrated by Eduardo Francisco, which takes place a few years later, happens to be Major Ninja.

A few years later, when Cassaro released another comic book called Holy Avenger, Ninja would appear in the comic strips as performing some comedy lines.

Origin

The Capitão’s past is a mystery, nor the members of U.F.O. Team knows anything about him except that he works for NORAD neither the most of his superiors. There’s rumors and speculation about who he are, or why he joined NORAD, some try to ask him but he always evade with some joke about himself. There’s only information about his career on American Air Force, like one time that he failed on a mission where he was supposed to protect Nicole Margot from being kidnapped by Metalians – a warrior breed of aliens, who are all made of liquid metal. Few years later, Nicole would come back and try to kill him.
