Origin
Blinded when he was a baby, the boy who would one day become Captain Hazzard trained himself to use all his other senses to their limit, he also studied yoga, the techniques of the shaman, and hypnotism.
It was while doing that that he found he had psychic abilities.
In his late teens he was given experimental surgery that restored his sight and he turned his life to the pursuit of action, adventure, and advocating his belief that humanity was at the start of a new age of wide spread use of psychic powers.
Creators
Captain Hazzard was a hero pulp magazine published in 1938 in an attempt to steal the thunder of Doc Savage. Mush like Doc, Hazzard is different in that while smart and athletic he was not a perfect physical and mental specimen; he was however psychic, also unlike Doc he carried a gun and was not shy about using it. Also like Doc he had a team of aids, only with Captain Hazzard they were not his pals, but men who all tested high with psychic ability that he hired.
Just a few years ago this forgotten, and public domain character was brought back in a series of graphic novels.
