Carapace is a mutant with the ability to produce a hard, insect-like armor, a near impenetrable shell she can put up at a moment’s notice. In a story set after X-Men #75, the Morlocks known as Marrow, Carapace, Ape, Poser, and Matchstick Girl, along with Beast and Wolverine, were attacked by Sentinels. Carapace was unable to create her armor in time to shield herself from a Sentinel blast and Beast had to perform surgery using Wolverine’s claws in order to remove a piece of shrapnel from Cara’s side, saving the Morlock’s life.
