Origin
Net de Anker was a girl selling fish on the market. She used her bellowing voice to attract customers. One day, she married an Spanish inventor called José del Rondello and moved with him to Spain. Shortly after the birth of their son Sprotje, civil war broke out in Spain. After a bombing, she never saw her husband again. To get money, she changed her name and began to sing. While on tour in Belgium, her son was kidnapped. His kidnappers, Schramoelio and Ramundo, wanted thus to force José del Rondello to destroy one of his inventions. It was the invention of a mechanical bull, because that would mean the kidnappers were out of their job, for they stole bulls and sold them to Stobbelaro, an arena holder, for bull fighting.
Sidonia (niece of Carmencita) and her companions Lambik, Suske and Wiske travelled to Spain, freed Sprotje from his kidnappers and reunited Carmencita with her husband José.
