Cascade grew up on a prison world meant to hold only one prisoner: Her mother, Maitresse. Maitresse has power on a level similar to Darksied of the New Gods, in that she can shape the world around her to her will; even create and destroy life. Cascade’s own powers let her escape however, where her mother could not. She gathered together a group of former royals who fled a menace called The Rapture, eventually ending up on Earth.
