Archaeologist Harold Ross was transformed into Cataclysm, an ancient enemy of the Leymen. Doctor Mist tells his new team of Leymen how Harold Ross became the being known as Cataclysm. Ross was once a friend of Mist’s until he lost his wife to a volcano’s eruption and his son to an avalanche. He began seeking the stone carrie’s that were the focal points of power to Earth’s destructive forces after his family’s deaths. His vision is to force the planet to consume all inhabitants like his family was consumed.
