Catarina Culioli is a mazzera, a Corsic folklore figure. They have the ability to participate in oneiric hunts, during which they chase different kind of animals. If a Mazzeru kills an animal during the hunt, it will transform into a person known by the mazzeru, and that person will die even in real life within one year. They are not evil nor good, they are just vessels of fate and links between life and death. Sophie Mutter received the gift of Mazzerisme during a research in Corsica, and Catarina wanted to make her accept her destiny, even if she didn’t want to.
