Origin
Caulifla is a Saiyan from Universe 6.
Caulifla is the sister of Renso, a former Salada Defense Force Elite. While she chose to lead a group of punks, she has greater potential than even her brother. Her protegee is Kale. Caulifla is later recruited by Cabba to participate in the tournament of power.
Creation
Caulifla first appeared in the Dragon Ball Super anime episode 88 titled Gohan and Piccolo: Master and Disciple Train to the Limit!
Her first appearance in print was on the cover of the V Jump October 2017 issue. Her first full appearance was in Dragon Ball Super Chapter 32 first printed in V Jump March 2018.
In the fusion which Kale: Kefla, her berserker transformation resembles Broly‘s, at the time, the character had not yet become canon.
Major Story Arcs
Tournament of Power
Caulifla was approached by Cabba to join him in the Tournament of Power which would decide the fate of their universe. Initially she was uninterested until Cabba enticed her with seeking a greater power and the transformation into a Super Saiyan.
Caulifla was able to transform with minimal effort. Together with Cabba, they attempted to teach Kale to transform but she became berserk when she became the Legendary Super Saiyan form. Caulifla was able to ascend quickly to Super Saiyan 2 to stop Kale’s rampage.
When the tournament began, Caulifla took immediate interest in the Universe 7 Saiyans, Goku in particular. She fought him and showed off her Ascended Super Saiyan form only for Goku to point out it’s weaknesses. With a little coaching, Caulifla was again able to attain her Super Saiyan 2 form only for their battle to be interrupted by a out of control Kale.
Caulifla and Kale fought against the Universe 11 Pride Troopers but were outnumbered four to two. Kale was able to gain control of her transformation and together they eliminated all four in a combined blast.
Later in episode 112 Caulifla helps Goku defeat the robots wanting him to fight with her hoping he can teach her super saiyan 3 having a higher chance to win the tournament of power. Caulifla has a long battle with Goku having the edge with Kale later joining in.
Caulifla and Kale fight Goku being interrupted by Frieza who eliminated Cabba. Caulifla and Kale resume fighting Goku with Goku being pushed to needing Super saiyan God to keep up with the girls.
Caulifla and Kale are nearly knocked out of the ring but before that happens, Kale and Caulifla are forced to fuse into Kefla.
