Cesare Borgia (1475 – 1507) was a son of Rodrigo Borgia (Pope Alexander VI) and his mistress Vannozza dei Cattanei. He was a brother to Lucrezia Borgia. He served as Cardinal from 1493 to 1498 but then resigned. He gained the French title of Duke of Valentinois and served as the chief general of his father in campaigns annexing new territories to the Papal States. Following the death of his father, Cesare served the court of Navarre until killed in battle.
