Chanti is the creation of DC writers Jimmy Palmiotti and Justin Gray.

The Chanti Situation

Chanti is the Hindu girlfriend of Lucien Gates, The Ray. She works as an assistant for the Cohen Schiff Talent Agency. After Lucien got his powers he was hesitant to confront Chanti because he was not able to put clothes on due to his new powers.

Chanti had not seen or heard from him in a week so she went to his house with tickets to the red carpet premiere of Shahrukh Khan’s new movie. When Chanti saw the condition Lucien was in (a walking glow stick according to his mother, Judy) she told him that he should see a doctor. Chanti plans on having Lucien over for dinner to meet her parents. She is unsure of how they will react to him because he is not Hindu.
