Chay-Ara was a consort of Prince Khufu of Egypt. She and her lover died fighting an Egyptian sorcerer, but were both repeatedly reincarnated due to an exposure to Nth metal and destined to meet and fall in love. However, they were cursed to die at the peak of their relationship.
Chay-Ara was reincarnated as Lady Celia Penbrook. Lady Penbrook was created by Robert Kanigher and Irv Novick.
Their most recent reincarnation were of the superheroes Hawkman and Hawkgirl.
Blackest Night
At some point the bodies of Chay-Ara and Khufu were moved to Zamaron to power the Violet Central Power Battery of the Star Sapphires.
After the destruction of the Black Power Rings evoking the bodies of Carter Hall and Kendra Saunders and an assault on Zamaron by Black Lanterns, Chay-Ara and Khufu join Nekron‘s army causing the Star Sapphire’s Central Power Battery to explode.
Brightest Day
Chay-Ara herself hasn’t made an appearance, but it is revealed that her mother is still alive, as queen of Hawkworld.
