Clay Brickford was a kindhearted family man who took in the Missing Link. Later he took in an exhausted Bruce Banner. With the Hulk and Missing Link being super-strong, simple-minded and enemies to each other, the two fought and destroyed the house that sheltered them. Brickford blames the Hulk as the Missing Link was actually passive before meeting him.
