Clytemnestra was the wife of Agamemnon, King of Mycenae. She famously killed her husband and his concubine Cassandra. Placing her lover Aegisthus on the throne and sharing power with him. She was eventually murdered by her children Electra and Orestes. She is a major figure in classic Greek tragedies.Â
