In the long running Terry and the Pirates comic strip Connie was the interpreter who helped young Terry Lee, and his two-fisted adult friend Pat Ryan thread their way among the bandits, pirates and other assorted characters as they sought out a gold mine indicated on an old map given to Terry by his grandfather.
