Crimson Dynamo (Gavrilov)

Origin

After finding the helmet to the Crimson Dynamo armor and believing it to be a sophisticated gaming system, Gennady Gavrilov caused the dormant armor to awaken and make its way towards the helmet, inadvertently leaving a trail of destruction. He would eventually, if briefly, wear the entire armor in a standoff with the Russian military. He kept the armor afterward.

Creation

Gennady Gavrilov was created by John Jackson Miller and Steve Ellis and first appeared in Crimson Dynamo #1.

Character Evolution

Gennady Gavrilov is the 8th in the long line of people who have held the Crimson Dynamo mantle. Introduced in his own series, after it’s conclusion he entered “comic book limbo” and subsequent people have adopted the Crimson Dynamo armor and guise since. Despite this, Gennady returned as Crimson Dynamo in the Iron Man/Thor miniseries. Gennady is one of the few Crimson Dynamos to not have been killed in action…yet.
