Introduced to The Bash Street Kids comic strip in 1972 he’s appeared on a semi-regular basis to this day.

Cuthbert is the brightest student in class and Teacher’s favourite pupil. He’s often bossy and rude, much to the annoyance of the Bash Street Kids, who exclude him from most of their schemes and pranks. Indeed he is often the victim of their schemes and pranks.

He bares a striking resemblance to Teacher continuing the theme by D.C. Thomspon that pets should look like their owners (like Dennis and Gnasher) with Cuthbert being the ‘teacher’s pet’.
