Badger and Ham met Daisy when both were in a mental institution. Her interest in them both led to her resigning from the institution and becoming Ham’s secretary only if he allowed her to continue treatment on Badger. She is the only person Ham cares about and one of the few who can make him do the right thing. Because of Daisy’s insecurities, she is succeptable to influences and corruption by other men such as drugs.
