Danika runs a vlog dedicated to Miles Morales‘ exploits as Spider-Man. When Miles’ costume was torn during a battle with Blackheart, revealing his skin underneath, Danika excitedly vlogged about the significance of a non-white Spider-Man. Miles for his part was not too thrilled by Danika’s vlog, feeling that she was reducing him to his skin color; he wanted to be Spider-Man, not just “the black Spider-Man”.
Later, Danika reveals that she receives clips and tidbits to always be aware of what Spider-Man is up to. This leads in to her receiving a clip of Spider-Man being attacked by Hammerhead and his goons. The broadcast of this on her vlog is then seen by Ganke, Miles’ best friend, and Fabio Medina, Ganke and Miles’ new roommate.
