History
Lord Darkthorn is the malevolent leader of D’khay, a world occupying the same space as Earth in a parallel dimension. Citing prophecy as validation of his reign of terror on both D’Khay and, at various times, Earth, Darkthorn played a key role in the development of the android merchants of doom known as the Disciples.
On D’khay, Darkthorn’s principal rivals The Berzerkers, lead by the enigmatic Cross, and leaders of a greater rebellion aimed at nothing short of eventual downfall. Despite their best efforts, though, Darkthorn has keep the war against him at a virtual standstill, thanks in no small part, to his ability to generate new Disciples almost as quickly as they are defeated.
While attempting to abduct Jonathan Taylor Prophet from Earth, Darkthorn was drawn into conflict with Youngblood, personally facing Diehard and Badrock when they arrived on D’khay via an interdimensional gateway known as a Crash Tunnel. Darkthorn effectively injured Diehard and used his psychic will to subvert Badrock to his own ends, then leading the judgement impaired Badrock back to Earth in order to battle Youngblood. With Badrock’s aid, Darkthorn engaged Youngblood in physical combat, besting Prophet and Photon, but falling short of victory when Psi-Fire entered the fray and matched his incredible power. Darkthorn failed in his quest to capture Prophet, but warned that the battle was far from over.
