Darth Malgus

Early life

Darth Malgus, originally born under the name Veradun, was a male Sith Lord during the Old Republic era. At a young age, Veradun was sent to the Sith Academy on Dromund Kaas by his adoptive father who realised his incredible potential when he killed a Twi’lek slave with the Force.

After his training on Dromund Kaas, Veradun was chosen by Vindican to be his Sith apprentice and adopted the name Malgus.

Around this time he also rescued Eleena Daru, a Twi’lek slave girl form the planet of Geonosis, who would eventually become his lover.

The recapture of Korriban

Malgus and his master Vindican were part of the recapture of the Sith home world of Korriban in 3681 BBY which sparked the Great Galactic War. During the ensuing fight, Malgus and Vindican encountered the Jedi Battlemaster Kao Cen Darach and his apprentice Satele Shan. The latter could escape with the help of Jace Malcolm, a Republic trooper while Kao Cen Darach fought both Sith at once. The Battlemaster managed to mortally wound Vindican after which Malgus took his fallen master’s lightsaber and eventually killed Kao Cen Darach.

After the battle was over, Malgus was walking on the surface of Korriban when he received a Force vision which told him that he would be responsible for the destruction of the Jedi order.

The battle of Alderaan

Years later Malgus was selected to lead a surprise assault on Alderaan, leaving a deathly trail of destruction behind him and successfully concurring the planet. However his victory was short-lived when Havoc Squad, a Republic Special Forces unit, launched a counter attack on the Sith forces. It looked that the Sith empire was winning the battle until Satele Shan, the same Jedi Malgus encountered years ago, arrived and turned the tide of the battle in the Republic’s favour. She took on Malgus herself but was eventually overmatched by the Sith Lord until Jace Malcolm, commander of Havoc Squad, aided her by using a concussion grenade on both himself and Malgus. This proved to be enough of a distraction for Satele to defeat Malgus.

However Malgus survived his encounter with the Jedi knight but was heavily wounded. During his trip back to his command ship, Malgus sensed a Jedi nearby who he’d choose to encounter out of anger for his defeat. He was ambushed by a second Jedi who he killed with Force Choke and afterwards used Force lightning to kill the other Jedi.

The Outer Rim

Eventually Malgus ended up fighting the Republic in the Outer Rim on planets like Ord Radama and Serenno. On his initial attempt to concur the planet Ord Radama with the aid of Darth Venemal was successful but because most of his supplies were granted toward Lord Adraas, they eventually lost the planet back to the Republic.

Following his defeat, he attacked Serenno, a planet that was under Republic control, most notably Jedi Master Ven Zallow. Malgus and his army successfully took over the planet because of their swiftness but Ven Zallow managed to escape.

Afterwards Malgus took back Ord Radama from the Republic, hereby restoring his reputation because of his earlier defeat.

The sacking of Coruscant

28 years after the beginning of the Great Galactic War Darth Malgus led a force to attack the Jedi temple on Coruscant. He entered the temple alongside his lover Eleena Daru when a stolen Republic shuttle with the rest of his group arrived. During the ensuing battle, Malgus killed numerous Jedi and finally engaged Jedi Master Ven Zallow, the only worthy opponent present. After a short but intense duel, Malgus impaled the Jedi with his lightsaber while newly arrived Sith forces stormed the temple.
