Daryl Tynon was a normal family man who was out hunting in the woods when an eerie presence began to follow him, chasing him into exhaustion and finally taking possession of him. The presence was a wendigo, a cannibalistic spirit whose hunger can never be satisfied. Driven into a ravenous frenzy, Daryl forgot his own identity until Hellboy and Abe Sapien tracked him down and captured him in a ring of fire. Remembering his past as a human, he was told that his family, believing him dead, gave up their search of him and moved on. Daryl willingly went into the custody of the B.P.R.D. and was allowed a photograph of his beloved family.
