David Gilmour was famous for being lead guitar for Pink Floyd. In addition to work with Pink Floyd he has enjoyed a successful career as a solo artist and has worked as a record producer for many other artists. David also worked with many charities in his career. In 2003 he was appointed CBE for services to music and philanthropy and was awarded with the Outstanding Contribution at the 2008 Q awards.
