Doctor David Umber was created by Scott Lobdell and first appeared after the DCU relaunch of 2011. He was created as a member of N.O.W.H.E.R.E. and was a part of Project Superboy.

David Umber was a part of the Project Superboy and was there, as N.O.W.H.E.R.E. created an illusion world to test Superboy.
