Origin Of Deadalus
Born on New-Gen when Gabriel had already begun his great work, Deadalus becomes Gabriel’s greatest protégé and very nearly his ultimate downfall. Deadalus and Gabriel worked closely together developing their control over nanotechnology and the electromagnetic spectrum.
After the death of Deadalus’s wife, things took a turn for the worse. He lost his faith in New-Gen after all the technology and all the doctors of the world could not save her. When he devised a plan to use the Kane to move backwards in time to rescue his beloved, Gabriel forbade it, fearful that such actions would have catastrophic implications. Angered, Deadalus began to develop delusions of grandeur, and he became obsessed with using technology to cheat death.
He began experiments hoping to make children perfect, invulnerable and stronger than before using nanotechnology. He started with a young girl who had lost her arm, handily regenerating the limb. He then began to test nanobots, robots as small as molecules, on unwitting subjects, starting with his daughter Carmen. He released agents that would promote evolution in people, even children, without their knowledge or consent. For this, Gabriel banished him to an Underworld dimension.
This enraged Deadalus, who saw both his dream and his daughter snatched from him. Gabriel kept and raised Carmen as a member of the A.P.N.G., and she grew to oppose everything her father stood for.
Exiled
Exiled to the Underworld, Deadalus became twisted physically by his anger and his hatred for Gabriel. Also the very nanites that inhabit Deadalus now seem to channel and focus his rage corrupting the very creatures around him in the Underworld, turning them into his Metalmites. The Metalimites, monstrous beasts, which seem to be able to eat through anything, quickly beginning devouring tunnels in the Underworld, leading Deadalus to realize he can escape to new worlds and time periods.
Ancient Crete and Zadaar-3
One of the first worlds he lands on is that of ancient Crete, where he quickly sets out to dominate the populace with his mastery of his Metalmites and no one to challenge him. Gabriel quickly discovers that Deadalus is reeking havoc on Earths past and sends Mini there to stop him. Quickly the situation escalates as Deadalus begins to throw more Metalmites at Mini, and Mini himself suddenly finds his nano powers surging causing more harm than good to the area he is trying to protect. Gabriel then sends in Horus, a nanotech robot similar to Roboduck, that Gabriel can command to assist Mini. The two eventually defeat Deadalus and once more banish him to the Underworld.
Deadalus eventually escapes again, this time into a highly advanced society known as Zadaar-3. Not realizing he has been transformed from so much time spent in the Underworld and by his nanobots he ventures out into world to investigate. Quickly though the general population reacts with fear and suspicion of this strange looking person, forcing him to make a quick retreat back the caverns he as escaped from. Feeling angry, betrayed and alone he quickly seeks to strike back at the people of Zadaar-3 by having his MetalMites eat away at the very foundation of their city. This causes all the buildings and structures to collapse as the ground literally gives way beneath them.
Deadalus, now fully transformed, walks through the wreckage that once was a city and discovers new nanotechnology, similar to what was created on NEW-GEN and names them Microbots and begins to immediately think of devious ways that he can use them.
He begins to use his new Microbots to co-opt the technology of the world, changing helicars into fearsome creatures and making everything his personal weapon. Gabriel soon discovers that Deadalus has escaped once more and again sends Mini in to battle him. Unlike the first encounter between Mini and Deadalus, Deadalus is now prepared and much stronger than before. Mini puts up a good fight, but is clearly outnumbered by Deadalus and his army of Metalmites. Just when things look at their worst for Mini, the rest of the A.P.N.G. arrives to stand against Deadalus.
The A.P.N.G. stands together against Deadalus and quickly begins their assault. They take down numerous Microbots and Metalmites but Deadalus stands strong and strikes back with a devastating electromagnetic wave negating their nano abilities and returning them to their human form.
Nearly defeated Gabriel arrives on Zadaar-3 to battle Deadalus himself. Restoring the A.P.N.G. to their abilities, they proceed to attack Deadalus’ Metalmites while Deadalus and Gabriel begin to battle one another.
Both call upon all their strength and have a colossal fight that in the end Gabriel wins, having power at his disposal to cause Deadalus to expend all of his and once more banishing him, now powerless to the Underworld. Since that encounter, Deadalus has not resurfaced and is presumed trapped in the Underworld.
