Debra Levin

Debra Levin first appeared in “Uncanny X-Men” #263-264 (July -August, 1990) as an officer of the KGB (Committee for State Security) . She has since switched affiliations to the FSK(Federal Counterintelligence Service of Russia) and the the FSB (Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation). She serves as the right-hand-woman to Alexi Vazhin (the “Russian counterpart to Nick Fury”).

She was first seen serving as a bodyguard to Vazhin and Valerie Cooper at intelligence meetings. She was later depicted in “Excalibur” vol. 1 #33 (January, 1991), keeping surveillance over the British Prime Minister when Vazhin assigned her to investigate the Shadow King. She detested her new assignment. She was next seen in “Uncanny X-Men” #383 (August, 2000) captured by Tullamore Vogue in the process of investigating his slave trade operations. She almost became a slave herself but was rescued by the X-Men. The following issue (#384) she started interrogating the captured Vogue but he was retrieved by the Crimson Pirates after a skirmish with Levin and the X-Men.

Levin has had extensive training as an intelligence agent. However her skills have proved lacking against super-powered opponents.
